Rath Young and Pignatelli’s Energy Practice Group supported the recent financial closing for the Cider Solar project being developed by an affiliate of Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC in Genesee County, New York. Rath Young served as local counsel to the lenders and tax equity investors for the project. The project is currently in construction, with commercial operation anticipated in late 2026. Once completed, Cider Solar is expected to be the largest solar project in New York (capacity of 500 MWac, 674 MWdc). Rath Young’s team representing the financial parties included Chuck Willing, Maria Law, Grayson Shephard, Eric Asquith and Claudia Prendergast.
