Legislative Experience

Our commercial clients come from all sectors of business and industry and include national, multi-national and local corporations. We are registered lobbyists for major commercial entities in the telecom, electric and gas utility, health insurance and financial services industries. We also work with organizations in the equally essential nonprofit world, assisting clients in the fields of education, human services and recreation.

Our experience includes:

  • Led legislative efforts to provide a funding mechanism to benefit the OHRV industry.
  • Defeated industry attempts to impose workers’ compensation fee schedules.
  • Secured legislation legalizing daily fantasy sports play.
  • Played pivotal role in the modernization of New Hampshire Trust laws.
  • Coordinated local, state agency and legislative relations to facilitate positive resolution of proposed EPA regulations on a Seacoast community.
  • Represented the franchising industry in the successful modification of state law clarifying the relationship between a franchisor and a franchisee.
Regulatory Problem Solving

  • Facilitated successful development and maintenance of a community relations plan for a natural gas pipeline.
  • Arranged a public-private land transfer to enable the construction of an 18-hole golf facility in New Hampshire.
  • Helped a private developer obtain a lease of state land for development access to a lake and to obtain the necessary permits for construction of a multiple boat docking structure.
  • Defeated a proposed ordinance that would have banned circus performances.
  • Helped an insurance-related vendor resolve issues with the state Division of Motor Vehicles.
  • Helped a major beverage manufacturer obtain legislative authorization to sell a new product line.
Contract Procurement

Tremendous opportunities exist for companies with the right products and services to do business with state and local government agencies. We assist potential vendor companies by identifying and helping to develop these opportunities. In New Hampshire, selection by the agency is only the first step, and we help our clients obtain the somewhat unique but critical approval of the contract by the Governor’s Executive Council. We have represented vendors from a number of industries including insurance, construction, health care, transportation, environment and technology.

Our experience includes:

  • Assisted a medical school achieve large, multiple state contract approvals from the Executive Council.
  • Worked with the State Employees’ Union, several state agencies and the Executive Council to help assist a for-profit managed health care company win multiple Governor and Council contract approvals.
  • Secured state grant funding for a national non-profit organization.
  • Helped a Fortune 100 company re-establish and maintain a working relationship with state agencies.
  • Represented a leading automotive industry company in their efforts to bid on a statewide contract.
