A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on February 11, 2026, to celebrate the operational status of the Cross Town battery energy storage project in Gorham, Maine, which began commercial operation in late 2025. Cross Town is owned and operated by an affiliate of Plus Power LLC and is the largest battery storage project in New England (capacity of 175 MW, 350 MWh). Battery storage projects are expected to contribute significantly to making the supply of electricity more reliable and less expensive for New England residents, especially during summer and winter peak demand.
Rath Young and Pignatelli’s Energy Practice Group supported the financing for Cross Town, serving as local counsel to the lenders and tax equity investors for the project. Rath Young’s team representing the financial parties included Chuck Willing, Kat Hedges, Grayson Shephard, Lauren Kilmister and Alex Grene.

Rath Young and Pignatelli played a similar role in the financing of Plus Power’s 150 MW/300 MWh Cranberry Point battery storage project in Carver, Massachusetts, which came online in the spring of 2025.
