ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Rath, Young and Pignatelli, PC seeks an associate attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience to work primarily with our Litigation Practice Group. Candidates should be independent self-starters with experience in state and Federal courts with excellent communication and organizational skills. The attorney would work from our Concord, New Hampshire, office but after an initial period we would consider a hybrid remote / in-person arrangement. A Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, active New Hampshire license (or ability to waive into the NH Bar), and excellent references are required.

We practice in a diverse array of areas from Health Care, Business, Bankruptcy, Media, Sports, and Civil Rights law, to Litigation and Administrative Proceedings at all levels of the state and federal system, to Energy, Environmental, Constitutional, Consumer Protection and Tax law. Our experienced and well-respected attorneys have been recognized by the American College of Trial Lawyers, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Martindale Hubbell, the Business and Industry Association, and the New Hampshire Business Review. STATE TAX ATTORNEY POSITION

Rath, Young and Pignatelli, P.C. seeks an experienced attorney with 7 to 10+ years of state and local tax experience in a law firm, accounting firm, corporate tax department or governmental agency. The candidate will work primarily within our State and Local Tax Practice Group but will also assist the Business and Finance Practice Group and Energy Group in tax, regulatory, licensing, transactional, and compliance issues.

RYP’s State and Local Tax Practice has been built on decades of experience in New England tax controversy and tax policy work focused on New Hampshire and Vermont. We pride ourselves as being subject-matter authorities in our respective areas of tax, authors for reputable publications in the tax field, and members of various collaborative tax-related working groups and boards. We are also proud to have been the state tax contributors to the Council on State Taxation (COST) for New Hampshire and Vermont for approximately 15 years and founded the New England State and Local Tax Forum (NE SALT). Join our engaging team and play a vital role in these relationships, with an opportunity for professional growth and leadership at the Firm and in the Tax Practice Group.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have in-depth experience in complex state and local tax (SALT) matters, including strategic tax planning and controversy work for mid-size to multinational businesses in all areas of SALT. Federal income tax and and/or LL.M. in Taxation are preferred but not required. Some corporate law experience is also preferred.

The candidate must have excellent academic credentials and law degree from an accredited law school. Along with strong writing and presentation skills, candidates must have an entrepreneurial spirit, sound judgment, and leadership potential.

An active admission to at least one of the New England state bars and ability to be admitted to the New Hampshire and Vermont bars are required.

Ideally, candidates should be residents of a New England state and be able to work from one of our New Hampshire, Massachusetts, or Vermont offices in a hybrid remote / in-person arrangement.
