RYP State Tax Shareholder Kathryn Michaelis and SALT Practice Leader Merrill Barter of Baker Newman & Noyes presented the “Top 10 State Tax Issues Your CPA Should Know” at theWomen and Money Forum conference on January 9, 2014.  The Forum is put on annually by the Center for Women’s Business Advancement at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH.  RYP served as one of the sponsors of the 2014 Forum.  The speakers addressed numerous issues, including knowing when your business needs to file a tax return in a state, knowing which state taxes may impact your business, knowing which tax returns to file, knowing how to source the correct amount of income or sales to a state, common New Hampshire tax issues, new Massachusetts tax issues, and putting best business practices in place to manage state taxes.   The presentation will be repeated as part of an ongoing legal series workshop with the Center during 2014.
