Concord, NH – January 1, 2016: Rath, Young and Pignatelli, P.C., announced today that Maria Holland Law, Michael Kasten and Michael Lewis have all been elected Shareholders of the law firm effective January 1, 2016.
Maria Law joined the firm in March of 2009. She is a member of the Energy and Utilities, Business and Finance, Education and Non-profit and Real Estate Practice Groups. Her practice focuses on advising developers of and lenders to renewable energy projects: including solar, wind, hydro-electric and bio fuels projects. She also counsels corporate and individual clients in the acquisition or sale of commercial real estate. Maria also has extensive experience in counseling charitable trusts and non-profit organizations in the areas of corporate governance, maintenance of 501(c)(3) status and collaboration of mission-driven non-profit organizations.
Maria received her J.D. from Boston College Law School and her A.B from Vassar College.

Michael Kasten joined the firm “Of counsel” in December of 2013. He co-chairs the Firm’s Business and Finance Group. Michael has a diverse corporate and real estate practice spanning the last twenty (20) years. He has assisted numerous entrepreneurs in a wide variety of industries helping plan, grow, operate, and transition businesses from start-up or purchase through an exit or succession plan.
Michael received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, his MSc from London School of Economics, and his B.Sc. in Economics from Macalester College, Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Michael Lewis joined the firm in February of 2013. Michael is an experienced trial and appellate litigator and is a member of the firm’s Litigation, Tax and Financial Institutions Practice Groups. His practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. He has substantial experience before state and federal courts in the areas of state and federal taxation and probate law. Prior to joining the firm, Michael was an Assistant Attorney General at the New Hampshire Department of Justice from 2007 through 2013, serving in the Department’s Homicide Unit from 2011 through 2013.
Michael received his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California Berkeley, where he served as an editor of the Law Review, and his B.A. in Political Science with distinction, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Kenyon College.
