Dave Collins and Gina Powers Attend The Advocacy Group 2015 Annual Meeting

Dave Collins, Director of Rath, Young and Pignatelli’s Government Relations Practice Group and Gina Powers, Senior Government Relations Advisor, recently attended the 2015 annual meeting of The Advocacy Group (TAG) in Miami, Florida. The Advocacy Group is the premier state, federal and international public affairs and government relations organization.  TAG’s inter-firm network of independent companies consists of the elite lobbyists, communicators and public affairs professionals in each state and country. Membership is restricted to one firm from each state and participating International countries.  Mr. Collins was elected to the organization’s executive committee and appointed Secretary for 2016.

This year’s conference included panel presentations from executives at leading private sector industries as well as international dignitaries and members of the current Obama administration. Representatives from Taser and Cardtronics both discussed public policy issues their companies faced in 2015 and what they anticipate for 2016. Mark Entwistle, former Canadian Ambassador to Cuba and Anne Evans, District Director, U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, spoke to the group about future opportunities for conducting business with Cuba.
