Barbara Greenwood joined the firm in January 2006 as Of Counsel.  She is a member of the Health Care Practice Group and of the Education and Nonprofit Law Group.  Her practice focuses on counseling hospitals, physicians, other health care providers, and schools and colleges on a wide range of issues including regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing and accreditation, rules applicable to tax-exempt organizations, education law, and privacy, and assisting clients with developing and negotiating collaborative ventures and various types of agreements.

Barbara is admitted in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania (where she practiced with the Philadelphia-based Drinker Biddle & Reath).  Previously she practiced in Toronto, Ontario with the Torys firm and also with the Ontario Ministry of Health. 

Representative Matters
  • Assisting providers in negotiating and drafting employment and professional services agreements.
  • Structuring and negotiating joint ventures and other business arrangements and transactions involving health care providers.
  • Providing health care compliance and HIPAA training.
  • Counseling providers on regulatory compliance.
  • Advising schools and colleges on accommodation and privacy issues, including Section 504, the ADA, FERPA and HIPAA.
