Andrew W. Serell is a shareholder of the firm, and is the Director of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Since joining the firm in 1990, Drew has practiced in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Environmental Law, Family Law, Education Law, Insurance Law and Land Use and Zoning. Drew has practiced before the New Hampshire Supreme Court, all New Hampshire Superior Courts, as well as many District and Municipal Courts, Family Courts and Probate Courts in the State. He has tried cases in the Federal District Court in New Hampshire and other States. In addition to his trial work, Drew has argued dozens of appeal before the New Hampshire Supreme Court and First Circuit Court of Appeals. On the administrative level, he has represented clients before State agencies and councils including the Labor Department, Insurance Department, Board of Tax and Land Appeals, Waste Management Council and Wetlands Council. Drew’s Land Use and Zoning practice has brought him before numerous municipal Planning Boards and Zoning Boards of Adjustment throughout the State. Drew’s substantive practice includes the following: Commercial Litigation: Drew has represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters including contract disputes, construction issues, regulatory matters, as well as probate and tax litigation. Environmental Law: Drew’s environmental practice emphasizes CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and related State and federal environmental statutes; representing municipal and industrial clients with respect to Superfund sites; prosecuting administrative appeals of permit decisions; and defense and prosecution of contribution, cost recovery and indemnity activities. Family Law: Drew has represented clients in divorce, paternity, domestic violence, custody and support maters in Superior, District and Family Courts throughout the State. Education Law: Drew has represented colleges and universities, as well as independent secondary schools, in the areas of student and faculty discipline, regulation by government authorities, tuition refund claims, and a variety of litigation matters including claims alleging faculty misconduct. Insurance Law: Drew has represented insurance companies and insured businesses in a variety of coverage issues including declaratory judgment actions, health insurance coverage for innovative treatments, workers’ compensation premium disputes and coverage for environmental contamination. Land Use and Zoning: A long time member of the Town of Warner Planning Board, Drew has represented clients before local Planning and Zoning Boards throughout the State. Prior to joining the firm, Drew was a prosecutor with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office where he served as Senior Assistant Attorney General and Litigation Supervisor in the Criminal Justice Bureau and was involved in the prosecution of homicide, white collar theft and other serious felony offenses; represented the State in appeals before the State and Federal Appeals Courts; and supervised all white collar theft and public corruption investigations conduced by five Criminal Justice Bureau Investigators.
