Steve Fowler joined Rath, Young and Pignatelli in 1999 when he moved to New Hampshire after "retiring" as Chair of the Real Estate and Financing Practice Group at Boylan, Brown, Code, Fowler, Vigdor & Wilson, a prominent Rochester, New York firm of which he was a founding partner. Steve’s practice is concentrated in the areas of real estate financing and development and complex business and financial transactions. During the course of his practice, he has represented every type of lending institution, including some of the largest banks and insurance companies in the country, in mortgage transactions and enforcement actions.
Since joining Rath, Young, Steve has been active in the Firm's Energy Practice Group, handling the real estate components of alternative energy project financing and acquisition transactions, representing buyers, sellers, and lenders. The projects have included hydroelectric facilities, wind farms, solar, and biomass facilities.
In the field of real estate development, he has represented a national hotel chain in its acquisition and financing of sites throughout the country. He has also done extensive work in the commercial leasing area. Steve has represented local, regional, and national conservation organizations in connection with conservation easements and other land protection transactions.
Steve has served as a member of the Hanover Zoning Board and as Treasurer of the Hanover Conservation Council. He is a Trustee of the Society For the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
