Tom Rath Interviewed by Washington Post.com's Politics Blog on the 2008 New Hampshire Primary

April 10, 2006

On April 10, 2006, Attorney Tom Rath was interviewed by Chris Cillizza in "The Fix," the Politics Blog of WashingtonPost.com.  Tom offered insights into the developing stage for the 2008 Republican Presidential Primary in New Hampshire.

In the interview, Tom celebrated New Hampshire's traditional emphasis on retail politics, stating "that the most important thing for a candidate making visits to his states now, two years ahead of the primary, is not the large public events; rather, it's the smaller, more informal gatherings aimed at building relationships."

"You are trying to get someone to ride in the car with them between stops, have coffee with them, sit down in a hotel room," Rath said. "The person who is able to get people in the room are the coin of the realm up here."
