Ann McLane Kuster to Present "The Last Dance: A Journey Through Alzheimer's Disease"

May 22, 2007

Attorney Ann McLane Kuster will present "The Last Dance:  A Journey Through Alzheimer's" on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 as part of Exeter Hospital's HealthReach Community Education's T. Elliott Young Spring Lecture Series.  Ann’s mother, Susan McLane, served for 25 years in the NH state legislature before being diagnosed with the disease.  Ann will read excerpts from her book, The Last Dance: Facing Alzheimer’s With Love and Laughter, which chronicles her mother’s very private struggle in a public arena.  During that difficult time, Ann and her family celebrated Susan’s life and coped with her illness with grace, courage, love and laughter.  This lecture will offer hope, strategies, and resources for anyone caring for a loved one with memory loss.  A listing of local and statewide resources will be available for you to take home.

The lecture will take place from 7pm - 9pm in the  Exeter Hospital's North Conference Rooms.

In October 2005, Ann spoke at the Dartmouth Medical School conference on Alzheimer's and she is currently participating in various medical and community events (see calendar of events on www.thelastdance.org).
